Crass Stitch

Hello everyone! I've had to hold off on this post for a while, mostly because I had to make sure Alexander and Megan opened their presents before I put anything on the internet.

Over the Christmas holiday I decided to pick up a new hobby. I actually lean towards the whole DIY/arts and crafts thing. So, when I saw some hilarious cross-stitch patterns on Etsy, I figured I would give it a shot. It helped that my aunt tired to teach an impatient 13 yr old Alex how to cross-stitch. I got bored and walked away about 1/4 of the way through the pattern, but the tricks stuck because I picked it back up in December.

This is the first piece I made for my friend, Megan. Yes, it says "Namaste, Bitches." It fits my relationship with Megan perfectly, it was the best Christmas present I could give her.

This is Megan, she loooooves her present. She probably now hates me for posting this picture, but look how excited she is! I am not a good gift giver, but I really think I hit this one on the head. Seriously, look at that excitement!

Megan was not the only person to receive a hand crafted piece. Alexander, the boyfriend, also got a piece quoting one of his favorite show, Parks and Recreation.

This is from a bit with Donna Meagle and Tom Haverford. Alexander needs to remember to treat him self every once and a while, so I figured this would do the trick. I don't have a goofy picture of him with his new crass stitch piece, because, well, he is not a fan of the selfie.

I plan to continue this, even making my own pieces. I found some letter samples as well as border samples online and I don't think I'll need to buy any more patterns on easy. Woohoo! Here's to being broke and making the best of it.
